a poem to my darling daughter.

You are beautiful,
but I won't tell you so
 too often.
For those words can be tarnished
by the taste of conceit.
You are more lovely
than a flower
but it is internal,
both fitting and concrete.
You test me
every day of my life.
You cheer me
with every smile.
Your eyes are bright,
your tears are wild.
You amaze me.
You have my nose
and my growl
your Daddy's eyes,
and your brother's howl.
You make me taste plastic grapes,
and paint the sky pink.
You are braver than you seem.
You are stronger than you think.
Every moment you are present
makes me dream of tomorrow,
I would carry your every weight.
I would steal your every sorrow.
You speak a language of your own
yet I know every word
It's a secret that you share
that only I have ever heard.
You are my best friend,
the happy to my ness.
You are everything, my love
and will never be anything less.
                                                                                                                                          love you bug.
